Ending FGM in Pastoralist community Young Gilrs testimonies

The poor status of comprehensive sexuality education and SRH services is evidenced by high rates of teenage pregnancies in the country. Inadequate comprehensive knowledge of HIV transmission, life skills, Interrogational sex, Concurrent sexual partners and ability to break the silence within the community, cultural practice, Parents and guardian is one of the causatives. Many Tanzanian women begin childbearing in their teenage years. Overall, 23% of women age 15-19 are pregnant or already have children (this has contributed to 6,000 girls drop out from school each year due to pregnancy (16 per day)



Khadija Saidea-A primary school student from WASO,Ngorongroro district is one of the young girls devoted herself to change the paternalist believes and mindset towards education for young girls and early marriage,She said that through the awareness raising  program she previously get,now she is the champions to other girls and the general community in advocating for ending child marriage,early pregnancy and GBV to her pastoralist community in Ngorongoro District



Evidence from sexual violence shows that Thirteen percent of young women age 15-19 and 19% of young women age 20-24 have ever experienced sexual violence, which includes women whose sexual initiation was forced against their will.



Inadequate information, lack of privacy, crowded waiting rooms, and general youth unfriendly environment are some of the barriers that youth face in accessing reproductive health services. This has contributed significantly to the unacceptable levels of ill-health and mortality rate in Tanzania.
